We had a warm welcome by the Institute on Coordinated Community Response in Corsicana and Bryan, Texas on October 17 and 18.  Our presentations on Witness or Victim? Children and Intimate Partner Violence was premiered and is not part of our permanent curriculum.

Our presentation of Evidence Based Domestic Violence in Ardmore, Oklahoma found attendees from many disciplines interacting with us.

Partners in Change Conference was a great opportunity to update our presentation on the Oklahoma Lethality Assessment and to have fun with our Mock Crime Scene presentation.

In August Ronnie and Ray attended the Institute on Strangulation Prevention's Expert Witness Testimony for Non-Fatal Strangulation in Ft. Worth, Texas.  An excellent class, presented by the best in the business-Bill Smock, Gael Strack and Casey Gwynn.

In July 2019 Ronnie and Ray along with Amber Scroggins, Jessica Collett and Dena Craig from the Women's Resource Center got together for the 10th Annual Cleveland County Coordinated Community Response Team's 3 Day Multidiscipline Interactive Domestic Violence Training in Norman, Oklahoma.  Thank you to Norman Regional Healthsystem, Porter Campus, Traditions West Apartments and the University of Oklahoma School of Law for providing the venues for our training.

In May 2019 Ronnie, Ray and Jacobi with a help from Mary Kellison from Stillwater PD presented the 3 day Multidiscipline Interactive Domestic Violence Training in Guthrie, Oklahoma for the Logan County Coordinated Community Response Team.  Rejeania Tolliver and Sara Samples from Oklahoma DAC helped with the coordination and worked diligently behind the scenes.

Ronnie and Ray were invited back to CCAW 2019 in Dallas to present the Mock Crime Scene.  Except for the extreme efficiency of the housekeeping staff, which cleared away our crime scene in between classes, it was a great time.

Ronnie and Ray were invited to present at the Oklahoma 2018 Partners for Change Conference held in Norman, Oklahoma.  Ronnie presented with Jacobi Whatley on Evidence Based Domestic Violence Investigations which provided insights on building a case without victim cooperation.  Ronnie and Ray, along with Jacqueline Steyn, presented on Women’s Use of Violence in Intimate Relationships: Primary Aggression or Self-Defense?  Thank you to the organizers and the organizations backing the conference for allowing up to present.

2018 Conference on Crimes Against Women in Dallas, Texas

Ronnie and Ray traveled to Dallas, Texas for the 2018 CCAW.  They were invited to present on Dominate Aggressor/Self Defense and provided interactive presentations with Mock Crime Scene and Mock Court.  There were about 2500 attendees to the conference representing agencies across the United States and Canada.  There were also groups from Croatia and South Korea.  Both enjoyed the first day of the conference as attendees to several presentations and then started day 2 presenting Dominate Aggressor/Self Defense to a full venue.

The Mock Crime Scene presentation started with a meeting with the role players.

A collaborative effort to set the scenario for day 3 of the conference with a staged crime scene and live role players.  After interviewing the victim, suspect, child, 911 caller and victim's mom they spent some time in the crime scene looking for the evidence.

The final day of the conference found some of the participants in the Mock Crime Scene appearing in Mock Court.

Ronnie and Ray, along with attorneys who

volunteered to role play prosecution, defense

and judge, discussed court attire, court

etiquette, court procedures and put some

volunteer participants on the hot seat.

We appreciate the opportunity to present at such a prestigious venue and hope to be invited back for future conferences.
